On June 7 2000, Raphaël Louis, Olivier Bancoult and Rosemond Saminaden are about to leave to the Chagos.

Ces 3 Chagossiens sont partis pour une visite historique aux Iles Chagos. Après avoir pris un vol de ligne jusqu'à Singapour, ils ont pris un avion militaire américain (inconfortable selon Monsieur Bancoult) jusqu'à Diego Garcia, où la visite du cimetière ne leur fut pas accordé. Par la suite ils ont pu visiter l'atoll de Peros Banhos et des Salomon ainsi que le cimetière respectif de ces deux groupes d'îles. Monsieur Bancoult a pu constater les déprédations perpétrées aux tombes chagossiennes au cimetière de Boddam (Salomon). Ils ont aussi essayé de réparer les dégâts à la Croix des Missions au même endroit. Ils y ont déposé des fleurs ainsi qu'une plaquette commémorative en bois.
These 3 Chagossians have left on a historical visit to the Chagos Islands. After taking a regular flight to Singapur, they went to Diego Garcia on an American military aircraft (unconfortable according to Mr. Bancoult) without receiving, there, the permission to visit the cemetery. They were then able to visit the atolls of Peros Banhos and salomon and their respective cemeteries as well. Mr. Bancoult was able to witness the acts of hooliganism done on the Chagossian tumbs on Boddam (Salomon). They then tried to repair the damages inflicted to the Cross of Missions at the very same place. They left there the flowers seen above with a commemorative wooden inscription.
